classroom.

I wasn't sure how I would feel heading back to school. There's a lot of my freedom...or possibly selfishness...(ie - sleeping in, reading, working out, calling friends, trips to the lake, etc.) that is laid to rest when August hits. I have been pleasantly surprised though at how refreshing it has been to head back to work.

I've spent a good part of the last 2 days unpacking boxes, rearranging my room, hanging posters and bulletin boards, cutting out cute little birds for the walls, decorating, and organizing.
Here's a glimpse of my classroom/office:

Feeling board, used while working with students to help them understand and identify their emotions:

Birthday board (to be filled with birthdays to celebrate), game shelf, college and career boards, and my office nook complete with Baylor tribute!

I am ready to see my kids!
I am ready for big hugs and an overflow of details about their summer breaks!
I am ready to hear them giggle as they meet their teachers.
I am ready to look them in the eyes and know that they are safe.

I am thankful for my job.

I am thankful for this room...where I know hundreds of kids will come and go during the next school year. I sure hope they know they are loved and safe and worth every second of my 'freedom' and abundantly more.
